A LONG-TERM STUDY OF INTER-ETHNIC GROUP PAIRNG IN AMERICAN LIFE

a data analyst considers interracial relationships

Are men and women of a given ethnic group involved in interracial relationships at different rates? Are women of a particular ethnic group more or less likely to be in an interracial marriage? Has the proportion of people in interracial relationships changed over time? Were there spans of time when the proportions of interracial parings remained steady? Were there other times when interracial relationships became more common? Historically, did some ethic groups engage in interracial pairings before others? Find out below!

The data used to derive these graphs comes from the U.S. Census. The people represented are heterosexual joint householders.
